The Machine Room is Back!
This is the recovered Machine Room from 2005. Please don't expect wonders. The look and feel of this site is nine years old, and so is its code. Some of the functionality has been recovered while the rest of the site is modernised and restructured. Watch this space!

Oric International Started out as Tangerine, one of those small UK companies following the footsteps of Clive Sinclair. Legend has it the name 'Oric' was chosen because it's an anagram of 'Micro' with the 'M' chopped off. Perhaps, but regardless of that, Oric machines were, for a short while, strong competitors of the Sinclair machines. Then, soon after announcing a long-awaited, much delayed new machine, Oric went bankrupt. All prototypes of their new computer (called the Stratos) were shipped to France, where the local franchise of Oric kept the thing alive for a bit more, giving it lovely telecommunications features and naming it the Telestrat.

Oric machines are still alive today and new software and hardware is under development for them.
