This is the recovered Machine Room from 2005. Please don't expect wonders. The look and feel of this site is nine years old, and so is its code. Some of the functionality has been recovered while the rest of the site is modernised and restructured. Watch this space!

Unlike a computer's volume, its weight can easily be measured (unless we're talking about some dinosaur like the IBM 360, in which case weighing is done by trained professionals who have a hard time getting insured). This chart shows the general drop in computer weight in recent decades. We go all the way from big iron to little plastic. Note the immense drop in weight in the early Eighties with the advent of the home micro.
